It is also good to stay in Bredene for the horse lover. The beach, the woods and the agricultural hinterland are just perfect for horse rides. In the surroundings there are different equestrian routes defined which are taking you along the meadows, woods and the beach.

Horseback riding

Do you want to get horseback riding with your own horse in and around Bredene? In the surroundings there are different parking facilities for horses. There are also riding schools which are renting horses. In the riding schools horses are ready for you to go into nature for a couple of days. You come through woods, dunes and along the beach. Every day a guided ride outside is made. A ride in daytime is nicely relaxing, but exciting evening- or even night rides are organized as well.

Beach

Horseback riding at the beach relaxes you completely. Feel the wind through your hair when your horse drives in galops through the breakers. Are you going yourself horseback riding at the beach? Then there are two important things to take into account: de times that you are allowed at the beach and the tides.

De lokale regel in Bredene:

In Bredene is het rijden met paarden op het strand en de duinen verboden in de periode van 1 juni tot en met 15 september en dit van 9.00 tot 19.00 uur. Het paardrijden kan enkel gebeuren met een opgezadeld paard, met bit en bereden door één ruiter. Het verkeer met rijdieren op het strand en de duinen is altijd verboden:
- op het strand boven de hoogwaterlijn
- in de duinen, tenzij op de daartoe aangelegde ruiterpaden

De toegang tot het strand van Bredene voor ruiters is slechts toegestaan langs de strandtoegang "Hippodroom" (reddingspost 6). Voor het bereiken van het toegelaten strandgedeelte, moeten de ruiters of de geleiders zich stapvoets via deze toegang begeven. Het betreden van het strand om de waterlijn te bereiken moet stapvoets via dezelfde kortste weg gebeuren. Dat geldt ook voor het verlaten van het strand en/of de waterlijn.
